Klein Curacao (Blue Finn Charters)

When: Everyday! There are 2 boats, one leaving at 8am and the other at 8:30am. You must arrive 15 minutes before departure.

Where: Jan Thiel Beach. 50 minute drive from Coral Estate.

Description:

Full-day trip to Klein Curacao, an island 15 miles away from Curacao. The trip there takes around 1 hour and 45 minutes (depending on conditions) and the trip back is slightly shorter. Tickets are $120 per person for the catamaran.

Itinerary:

The boat leaves early from Jan Thiel beach with the journey taking under 2 hours. The bar opens for soft drinks for the journey to the island and the crew are very accommodating and so will come round to you to take your order if the water is choppy. Once you arrive at the island you can either swim from the boat (we were on the catamaran which even had a slide) to the shore or the crew will take you to the shore along with the bags in a small boat. You then have time to explore the island which has an abandoned lighthouse and several shipwrecks. Around noon the crew will call you back to the boat for the barbecue which is included in the price. We enjoyed some really delicious steak, ribs, chicken, and salads. Also at this time the crew open the bar for alcoholic drinks. They had cocktails, beers, and wine on offer which were all included in the ticket price. You then have some time after lunch to relax before you take the trip back to Curacao at around 3pm. The bar stays open for the ride back and you arrive back at Jan Thiel around 5pm.
